How it all started

Discover how the organizations principal founder and main backer, Catarina lind from Sweden decided to start 'Give a little with a great heart organization'.

As a child in the late 1960s, Catarina Lind watched videos of the famine crisis in Biafra. This ignited her humanitarian passion, and since then, she has always wanted to make a difference for people in need. In 2022, Catarina connected with Bruno Efreim Fidel from Tanzania. Bruno is a Maasai and a educated special eds teacher, who among other things helps vulnerable children.

At the time Catarina and Bruno met, Bruno worked as a teacher in the Njomberegion for a class of 45 children, 15 of them born with HIV and living with their grandmothers. Catarina wanted to help and donated footballs, jumping ropes, school uniforms and hens to the families affected by HIV.

After hearing about this, a church reached out to Bruno, wanting him to meet 45 families, all with different disabilities. This was the start of us working with the Church in Imalinyi Parish. Together we helped the 45 families and the Maasai people that is Brunos family.

Catarina and Bruno became close friends, and Catarina delved into the humanitarian situation in Tanzania. Determined to contribute, she founded the charity organization 'Give a Little with a Great Heart.' Since 2024, Catarina has been raising funds for the organization and has made several trips to Tanzania to see the situation first hand, and to follow the development of the organization.

Article 3

Children in Tanzania still face various challenges such as poverty, domestic violence, death of parents, shortage of structure and institutions available to children’s issues, budget constraints prevent the full implementation of programming aimed at remedying deficiencies in children’s rights and lack of awareness leading to ineffective implementation of the Law of the Child Act and Child Rights. To the indigent children the situation is worse as they are still denied their rights to health, education and adequate standard of living. As a result this has been affecting their healthy growth and development towards their adulthood. This is what compelled the founder members pioneered by the Principal Founder and Backer Catarina Lind from Sweden to come up with this organization.
